Best place to read

Since reading is such an integral part of all our lives I find it interesting to see the varieties of places people read. There was a thread on another book forum similar to this recently.

I don't have one particular place I favor, but several. One is on a small sofa/recliner with my OH, or even sitting near the computer, keeping an eye on perhaps a particular discussion thread I'm participating in at the moment.
Also sitting up in bed with a book till I'm so sleepy I can't hold my eyes open any longer.
In essence, the whole house is my reading area. :)
 
Yes, I do have a favorite place to read -- a favorite couch -- but read wherever else I have time: like waiting for my machine to boot, or waiting for replies to posts, or riding the bus and train.

But never in the john, not in my whole life. :lol:
 
The best place for me is probably curled up on the couch at home with a blanket and tea.
But I read almost anywhere - one of the best things about reading for me is the way you can disappear into a book and forget about time and place completely. I also like to carry the book I'm reading around with me when I go out somewhere, even if there isn't much chance of getting time to read.

I always try to start and finish a book in a "good" place, because I find that the first and last place I read a book tends to stick with me, and I'll be reminded of the book every time I'm there. Reading books at certain seasons has the same effect on me, and I'll often remember a book as "the one I read that summer at campus", or "the one I read in bed that winter", etc.
 
I have a chaise lounge in my living room and that is probably my favorite place to read. However, I can read any place and any time. I used to always carry a book around with me. Now with the Kindle app on my iPhone I read even more since even standing in line I can read a couple of pages to kill time.
 
Well, first off I don't like to read while I'm sitting up at the desk with my book put upon it, it's a position I normally use when I'm studying.
I'd rather prefer to lie down on my bed or my parents' bed when reading a book, bathroom also is a place I find comfortable! :D And first of all, there must be NO noise around! I hate noises, whatever they are: tv, music, etc...I end up reading the same line thousand times! It's so annoying...! :S
 
I like to read books on sitting the chair with table simultaneously taking tea.Mostly I likes to read book daily. I read books on holiday surely for short time period.
 
Not sure what my favorite place is to read. But I will say that I have found it very bad for sleep cycle to read in bed. I had to stop reading under the covers all-together.
 
I usually read on the couch. But my absolute favorite place to read is at our local public library! They have the most comfortable chairs there, as well as nice tables for me to rest my arms upon.
 
When the weather is nice, I like to go to my local park (early in the morning - Saturday and Sunday) and take my beach chair and sit by the water and read. It is so peaceful, all you hear is nature all around, the birds, fish feeding......

When the weather is not so nice, I usually sit on the couch with a glass of wine.

Not sure about you guys,but I can read anywhere,like a Pep Rally,though I would have a better time if it was quiet.

The best place for me to read is during my English classes for some odd reason,after I get done with my exams,and also when I get done with my work.
