Hello there !

So, as you probably guessed, I'm new around here.
I'm French, and a few weeks ago I decided to blog in English too (with a friend of mine, for this one), so now I'm discovering the internet book world in English !

My English is good enough to be undestood but not perfect, so please, bear with me if I make mistakes !

Yeah mostly ! On my French blog I talk sometimes about movies or musical, but mainly about books. The English one is just about books for now :)

I noticed from your blog that you read Mieville's Un Lun Dun recently.

I definitely recommend his novel Perdido Street Station - it really blew me away. Such a work. Totally Dickensian-rich weird-fiction-fantasy heaven.

New in town

Hi everyone, as the title says, I'm brand new around here. I'm an avid reader, probably a few hundred books in my library. Threw out that many once or twice in my life, only to accumulate just as many again. I enjoy many genres. The only one I haven't quite fallen for is science fiction. I'm also a writer, just recently published for the first time. My second book is coming out in about a month. And I just got a three-book deal with Penguin. So life is good right now.:whistling:

Why are the French in comparison to frogs?

It's just because usually the French are called the Froggies, probably because rumour as it we eat a lot of frog legs (but really not that much, if not almost never, among the people I know). And the English are called the Rosbeef for a reason alike.

I never got this Froggie thing. I'm French and have never ever eaten frog. I think I saw it on a menu once or twice in my life. Frankly, I'd rather be called something nicer.
 
Reader. I have no talent for writing or playing a musical instrument. I make up for both shortcomings by being an avid consumer of books and music.
