book box?

I don't know of any, but if it came down to it you could always hollow out a book and use it as one. That's painful to think about, much less do though! I remember that years ago I seen them in those little catelogs like Harriet Carter and Walter Drake, but I don't know if they still carry them nowadays.

Mom found some hair ties that had little books attached to them that she bought for me. I haven't worn them yet. I should make sure to on a day when I meet my bookworm friend at college. ;)

Have you tried ebay? We actually have a little spy shop close by that sells them. My mom and I like to go in there and browse around at all the gadgets :D

I've seen a quite a few home made versions that have worked out very well. If you're crafty I suggest having a go yourself. If not, I back the suggestion for Ebay. :)

I actually have one. I got it at a place called Hobby Lobby; don't know if there's one near you. The one I got is about the size of a typical paperback, only thicker, and bound in leather. It cost ten dollars. The bigger ones are more.

I know what store I am hitting during my next trip to the mall.

do any of you know where i could get a jewelry box/a box that looks like a book, to put stuff in? you know what i'm talking about?

Google "book safe", Hermione. :)

I was interested in getting one, or even hollowing out one myself, then I realized I'd probably forget which book was the "secret stash" one. Plus I think burglars would toss all the books on the floor looking for such a thing, but if you're just looking to foil snooping siblings, kids and in-laws, a book safe can't hurt. :)

Or parents? ;)

lol, parents. well, yeah, i kinda wanna hide it from parents and also friends, and i just think it would be kind of cool. not that i'm especting burglars or anything, especially because a 14 year old probably won't have something valable enough to steal by going through all my books.

LOL. I said I was going to hide the stuff in mine, but then I wound up showing it to everyone because I thought it was so cool. I was read by a psychic once, so I keep the tape from the reading in it. There isn't anything extraordinarily private on it, but who would want to listen to it anyway? (Besides me, I mean...)

yeah, me too! and sometimes, there's stuff i wanna hide far away so i won't lose it or someoene won't think it's something stupid to be thrown away.

I did it. I cut out part of a book to use as a secret place. Its a children's dictionary I dont' use very much anymore, i use webster's complete one now, so it's not that big of a deal, but actually defacing a book...

I could use a place to store my many trading cards. I did have most of them neatly organized in a drawer until my nephew visited one day and sought to scatter them about. I spent all day separating and counting those cards! Mean-spirited brat...

I don't think I could part with even my old childhood books by defacing them so I shall use my many tins that I also collect.

Ah, I wouldn't have been able to do it to one I liked...if I was going to use a real book to do it, it would be one that was pretty on the outside, probably an antique, and I couldn't do that, so I bought one.

Who was the psychic and what did they tell you? I'm interested!
The psychic was a local woman. Basically, she told me I would bounce back and forth between gender preference (which I already knew), that I had some psychic ability (which I already knew), and that I was going to be famous (which I'm not sure about).
I'm convinced she was credible because when I asked about my dead grandmother, I mentioned I thought she was watching Beauty and the Beast with me when I saw it at a local show. Grandma would watch it with me when I was little, and whenever the Beast would get turned back into a human, she'd say, "There's that light again." The psychic asked me if she had touched my neck at the show, and I started crying because I had felt a hand there right at the light part.
