Book recommendation...funny, philosophical, intellectual

Hey everyone,

As the title says, I'm looking for a recommendation for a book that is (hopefully) equal parts humorous and intellectual/philosophical.

Books that come to mind that I have read with similar style that I'm looking for:

Confederacy of Dunces
Lamb: Gospel According to Biff

I really enjoyed both those books, so if you have anything that is similar I would really appreciate the suggestion.

Thanks

Morales, I have not read the books you mentioned, so I don't know whether the books I am about to suggest would appeal you in the same way or not.

I read Paulo Coelho's Alchemist and found it funnily philosophical, especially the end. You can also give a shot to Nine Lives by William Dalrymple.

Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard by Kiran Desai is another book that I really enjoyed as it blends emotions and situations in the most hilarious manner.
