Books where Aliens are friends with Humans

Every time I search on google, I only get results like "best alien invasion books", and I dont want that. I am sick of all those "Good humans, bad aliens" books. I am interested in books where aliens are Friends with Humans like in Star Wars, Star Trek or even Mass Effect [particualrly Mass Effect, because I love the Mass Effect video game trilogy (PS. I already read the Mass Effect books), and I just love the friendship between Shepard and the alien members of the crew].

Does anyone know any good ones?? Older books (pre-1990) are welcome too, but I am more interested in more recent publishings (like in the past 20 years). Thank you in advance

Octavia Butler's Xenogenesis Trilogy might be something you'd like. I've only read the first book, Dawn, but I really liked it and plan on reading the other two.

There's quite a few.

Mary Doria Russell: The Sparrow and Children of God The aliens here may not be our friends, but they are not enemies.
Becky Chambers: The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet which has aliens that are our friends and others that are our enemies
David Brin's whole Uplift Series also has a lot of different aliens, some are our friends
