Books With Wandering

I'm looking for some reads with a protagonist ,or a group of protagonists, wandering around a country/forest/island/unknown world/whatever to get to some destination - or not even knowing where to go.

I've often been suggested with Cormac McCarthy and nothing else. I have read Blood Meridan and will be getting to The Road.

The Dark Tower Series by King was good, too.

I'm not picky about genres, so, fantasy, sci-fi, romance, horror - whatever. Fire away.
