I love American Psycho.

It is about boredom. Patrick Bateman has everything anybody could want. He's good-looking, rich, smart, educated, lives in a trendy bachelor pad, has a high-paying, easy job, women love him. But everything has come too easy for him so now he has to kill, or fantasize about killing, in order to amuse himself at all...

Also doubles as a satire of America, not just in the 80's but today. Life is so easy compared to the past we're all going crazy trying to find something to do.

I agree with most of the guys here it is an amazing book. I also enjoyed the movie, even though it is different from the book, I think it is one of Christian Bale's best performances so far.
