I went through all the threads i cannot believe there is not one for Clive Barker! Has anyone here read Abarat? I heard that there might be a second book, and i was wondering if anyone knew anything about that.
 
You can check out his Wikipedia page, or the various web sites with information. From what Wikipedia says, and from what I had heard, book 2 has been out a while. Book 3 was scheduled to be released this year. My brother-in-law mentioned that it was delayed and into re-writes because it was turning out to be too long.

I read "Mister B Gone" recently, my first Barker novel. Wasn't that impressed with it, but didn't sour me on his work. I hope to read "Imajica" someday soon.

Mister B. Gone was the only Clive Barker I couldn't finish. Hellbound Heart and books of blood vol. 1 and 2 are my favorite.But I also love The Last Illusion story from vol 6. I used to have a book with 3 stories from him that was really good. Forget the name though. One was a story of a guy in jail who's cell mate would transform at night, and one was the story that the movie candyman was made after.
 
I liked Mister B. Gone. It wasn't quite what I expected; the book jacket promised a horror novel but the story was really more of a dark fantasy/comedy.

Other than that, I've also read Sacrament, The Damnation Game and The Hellbound Heart.
 
Imajica is my favorite of his books. I haven't read it in a long time, but I would like to visit the Dominions again. Weaveworld is also a novel that I have a particular fancy for as well. I remember that I found it at a used books stall in the mall several years ago and decided to give it a chance. What followed was a passionate affair into the fantastique.

My Clive Barker collection used to be small, but in the last year it has grown a bit. Except for The Essential Clive Barker that I've had for years, I've read all the books of his that I currently own.
 
Imajica would probably be one of my (few) Barker favourites. Also quite enjoyed Galilee. Detested with a passion The Great and Secret Show, and Coldheart Canyon. Oh, and nearly forgot -- Cabal (filmed as Nightbreed) was damn fine!
 
Cabal, Weaveworld, The Thief of Always, The Books of Blood, and The Damnation Game are all terrific. Didn't finish Coldheart Canyon but I will eventually. Haven't read anything else by him.
 
I am a longtime fan of Clive Barker. He seemed to take a turn with Imagica and the books after that. I really love the early Clive Barker. I met him at a book signing and he was really nice. I think I had about 12 hardbacks and he very nicely signed them all including one to me that he drew an image in. He has written 22 books - that I am aware of.
