Funny. Outdated in the computer world is based on hours and days, not years or decades.

My illustrator is a very good friend. He'd sooner cut his own feet off than stop using his Mac.

My wife's cousin just graduated from college with an art degree and she swears beyond all that is natural on her Mac.

It is totally up for debate. Just because you insist it isn't doesn't change a thing.

Again....swing by my forum (see my signature) and debate an actual Mac user directly. I can only base my thoughts on what I've heard from friends. Apparently no Mac users here wish to step up and defend thier purchase.

Next computer purchase will be a Mac.

You're really not listening, are you? I've already told you why Mac users swear by theirs, why they are used by the art community, and why people liking them doesn't change a thing about what I've said. You can give me as many examples of people who like Macs as you want, it won't change a word of what I've said. You don't seem to get it, and I'm not going to repeat it again.

And there is no point in 'debating' with a Mac user. Do you think I'm making these facts up? Do you think I don't have experience with Mac os? I actually do my research, so I can pretty much guarantee that anything that Mac user or any other Mac user could say I've already heard, analyzed, and sorted appropriately. Why would I want to torture myself by listening to someone say things I've already heard and know are incorrect? They can like it all they want, that still doesn't change anything I've said (compatibility issues, dumbed down system, overpriced, same hardware, not necessary for the art world outside of compatibility issues, etc).

As a separate issue though, I do appreciate the invite. Thank you.



Oh, and to Syb, you can change the English settings so it spell checks according to the British versions of words and you can turn off the suggestion prompts in Word.

The arguments presented by jez are not really up for debate.
While linux users can present arguments for why linux is a better OS, mac doesnt really offer any benefits other than design on the case. So they are basically limiting the way they can use their computer just because its looks better on the desk, or because they find it confusing to switch to another OS. Anything else comes from lack of computer knowledge from the user.
