1. Hearts of Iron III -- WWII turned-based strategy game that allows you to play as any country in the world starting as early as 1936 (later if you choose). Hearts of Iron II is a real classic and I highly recommend it. However, it's successor goes a bit overboard with the detail to the point of becoming difficult to really "get into," in my opinion. This is the most detailed WWII game ever made, but I liked the previous version with a little bit less detail better b/c it was easier to play yet still extremely accurate.
2. Ageod's The Civil War -- A Civil War turn-based strategy game that is extremely detailed and realistic. Again, I think they went a little overboard with the detail but it is nonetheless a very good game if you are really into turn-based strategy games.
