Digital Camera advice?

Kook, don't think those cameras are right for want you want right now.

What about a sony cybershot? They are pretty good and compact. They also won't burn too big a hole in your bank.

Yeah... I had the same problem when I got my SLR. It's brilliant, but I can't take it everywhere I want to. I gotta keep in mind the purpose... but I can't stop drooling!!!

I'm not a big fan of Sony for some reason... just a personal bias I guess - they seem to be a bit too... amateur. I know that sounds daft given it's a point-and-shoot, but I would ultimately prefer a Canon. I'll keep looking - the Canon A610 is coming out in September and while it takes 4 AA batteries, looking at the specs it seems to be a good compromise between the Canon SD400 and the Panasonic LZ2 that I originally mentioned.
