Does anyone know this book?

Hello. I'm new to all this, but I was hopeing that someone here might be able to help me.
My wife read a book about 15/20 years ago and wants to read it again, but can't remember the title. Here's how she described it:

A fiction book.
Mystery(ish)
About a Painting
Allegory
A woman was possibly the lead character.

Obviously along the lines of The Da Vinci Code, but all about this one painting (not a masterpiece or recognised work of art).

The title of the book may include the word 'LANDSCAPE'.
