Dracula

I think the original Dracula by Bram Stoker was the greatest horror story ever written,I have read it at least four times over the years. Does anyone agree,I would like some thoughts on this.

I enjoy the novel as well.
Dracula , still provides suspense and chills even today... Plus I always get a hankering for spicy food , due to the all the paprika references in Jonathan Harker's diary.
Looking up and following Harker's travels with a period map is fairly easy and a fun thing to do while reading the novel.

The biggest issue with Dracula , at least for me , is ignoring all the various movie scenes that flash through my mind when re-reading the novel.
Luckily Stoker provided enough details and paints a vivid word picture , that , once I get into the novel , forgetting all the movie nonsense is easily done.

It is brilliant. Much like Frankenstein it relies on suspense and visceral fear rather than gore and shock.
