Everyones favorite types of music!??!

I read everything from fiction to thrillers to romances! On the subject of music though I can stand everything except country music (new country at least). I hate it!!! I love metal!!! >.< Everyone else?

Each to their own I suppose! I love country music. I quite like southern rock, dislike heavy rock, and can't abide rap!
 
When I was younger I used to play in a hard rock band (bass player) so I tend to listen to Classic Rock mostly. The music I can't stand is RAP. It's not music IMO. My favorite all-time group is Zeppelin.
 
Most of what I like seems to be in the Downbeat / Trip-hop category.

I also like some industrial music when I'm in the mood for it.
 
I listen to almost everything. My favorites are rock, classic rock, and classic country.

The only thing I cant stand is opera. And I am not a big fan of rap and hip hop. Cant stand much of the new stuff at all.

I love going to rock concerts.
 
On the subject of concerts...MANFEST 2006 IS THIS SATURDAY (the 13th)

It's gonna be insane. I love music!!! Just throwin it out there. Great likes of music. Even if I hate country I can respect a liking of it :)

A word of warning: some of the music on there I never heard until now. I figured I'd give them a try... some of the bands I liked, some I didn't. So if you want to discuss the finer points of Within Temptation or Faithless, can't help you there :D.

Add me to the list of those who hate rap music. I'd rather listen to country...

I've only ever heard of Taproot, I take it you're going to this festival? Have fun! :cool:
 
At the moment I've mainly been listening to cello rock (Rasputina) and punk cabaret (The Dresden Dolls) with a bit of J-(Japanese) and K-(Korean) pop/rock thrown in. I like quite a lot of rock and punk music, including some of the heavier stuff. I can't stand rap or county, and a lot of newer types of rock just annoy me for some reason.

I fussy about everything, so why should my musical tastes be different. :p
 
Why give 'labels' to music?

I love some country - I hate some country. Have you heard Willie Nelson doing On the Road Again? No-one could hate that could they?

I love something of every type - except opera.:( :)

Rock, classic rock, classical, jazz, blues, indie, punk...hell, pretty much anything. Rap and country are not my favourites, but I'll listen to a few songs from each.

Admittedly, though, I am absolutely addicted to music from the 80's.
 
Guitar bands from 60s onwards (mainly 90's - 00's). I guess you could say pop/rock or indie or britpop etc.

Think Smiths, Oasis, Verve and occasionally heavier stuff like Jane's Addiction, Pearl Jam...
