I would like to start reading books by this author, but I do not know where to start. Is there something that I should read first? Or ones that I should make sure to read?
 
I suppose many would say "The Great Gatsby". I would suggest you start with his short stories. Once you are hooked by his writing, you will not be able to stop reading.
