Favorite 3 books of all time

I'm surprised that people have put Cathcher in the Rye in their top three books. I read that about a year ago, and just kept waiting for something interesting to happen - I realise that it's pretty symbolic, but even so, I found it quite dull.

My favourite 3 books are:

1. Enduring Love - Ian McWean
2. Any Harry Potter books
3 Wide Sargasso Sea

I also liked The Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency - really easy to read, and quite funny and ironic at times.
 
Wow...This is a toughie...I think I will go with 3 that i have read somewhat recently:

His Dark Materials (trilogy)-Phillip Pullman this book may be in "young adults" but it is fantastic! I literally cried at the ending...

The Dark Tower (series of 7)- Stephen King my name says it all...

wow the last one is hard to pick...so many good 'uns

I will just go w/ : To Kill a Mockingbird- forget the author... A classic!

Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, and Pride and Prejudice are up there too.

And A Clockwork Orange of course.

The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevskiy
The Great Gatsby by Fitzgerald
The Outsider by Camus/Rabbit, Run by Updike/Atonement by McEwan

I also /have/ to mention Life of Pi by Yann Martel and The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. They were both excellent also.
