Feeling very bored and uninspired...

...so I thought I would come here to ask for your suggestions. Every once in a while, I get in this funky mood where I'm wanting to do something fun, educational, and useful (besides reading, of course). But I just don't know exactly what I want to do.

Anyone here have any helpful suggestions? I'm up for anything.

Thanks in advance!
Susan

When I feel like that I work on this oil painting I'm doing of an old photo from the 1930s of my father and his brother, standing in a swamp looking like grumpy wiseasses. I started it two years ago, so I obviously am taking my time. It makes me happy, though, because there's an air of eternal youth surrounding smart-ass 14-yr-old boys.

the holistic approach would be to find out what causes you to feel bored and uninspired, then free yourself from it.

You're probably lacking the vital nutrients found in pies. Have a pie. Fill yourself, and your world, with pie. If a body is deprived of pie for too long, it will send signals indicating that it needs more pie, some of which you are clearly experiencing. Eat pie! Refuel your creativity!

You are all funny and helpful.

bobbyburns - you are probably more right than you know. I've been feeling quite lonesome lately, having wished my best friend off to Australia (I'm in the US) and realizing that I have no real "girlfriends" left since we've all scattered out over the world after high school and college. Ho hum...

Since you can't buy friends at Wal-Mart for $4.97, I've been looking for other things to fill up my time. Sad, but true.

Pie sounds really good at the moment. I think I'll go make one for myself.

If you feel lacking in friends, then do something creative in a club. Join a real live book group; book on a creative writing course; try salsa or ballroom dancing. Get yourself off the Net, out of the house, and meet new people. They'll soon fill the gap left by the absence of your friends - plus you get to do something creative and fun!

The essential part of that is GET OFF THE NET!

Not in a nasty way, you understand, we all like your presence here - but, as close as you get to folks on a forum, nothing can compare to good old-fashioned face to face encounters.

Uninspired - Chocolate is the always the answer!

Here's a little rap I wrote that may inspire you.

Rapping with PMS

PMS is not my friend
Bitch and cuss and fuss and bend
The coco bean is all I need
Chocolate, chocolate, feed feed feed.

Gotta gotta have some chocolate
Gotta gotta have it now
Gotta gotta get it
Or I'm gonna have a cow!

Get me chocolate, I'll be fine
Chocolate, chocolate, mine, mine, mine
Light or dark, with nuts or not
Caramel center just hits the spot.

Gotta gotta have some chocolate
Gotta gotta have it now
Gotta gotta get it
Or I'm gonna have a cow!

If I can't have sex then
Chocolates next best
Insane for just a few short days
No salad bar, no fruit, no way.

Gotta gotta have some chocolate
Gotta Gotta have it now
Gotta gotta get it
Or I'm gonna have a cow!

I'm quite interested in knowing whether Freya means meat pies or fruit pies. It can make a lot of difference you know.
I shall keep my own preference to myself though, some things are too personal to broadcast on a message board.

Savoury pie. Always. Meat and potato preferably, but I'm not adverse to a nice cheese and onion or chicken and mushroom at a push. Not steak and kidney though Abu. Internal organs are a bit icky. Kidney beans are nasty too.
