Feeling very bored and uninspired...

Savoury pie. Always. Meat and potato preferably, but I'm not adverse to a nice cheese and onion or chicken and mushroom at a push. Not steak and kidney though Abu. Internal organs are a bit icky. Kidney beans are nasty too.
In my home town they sell lovely pork & onion pies but I can't get them in London. London is not a pie friendly town.

Umm, yes it is. You just need a pie and mash shop. Mmmm, pie and mash. With a big helping of jellied eels.

I have never balked at eating anything - snails, squid, octopus, no problem. But I think it takes a very sick person to eat eels. Urgggggh!!

But you can get gravy on your chips with your pie down South can't you?

But why would anyone want to put gravy on their chips? That's what vinegar's for. It's not natural to eat eals or to put gravy on chips.

 I always thought it was a crazy rumour... but you mean there really are people who don't put gravy on their chips?!

Where's Martin when you need him?? They know what to put on chips in Belgium!

Which makes the worst impression in a job interview?:

Chips in brown gravy
Pouring tea from your saucer into your cup
Eating all the sugar out of the sugarbowl with your finger
Knowing that the waitress has a birthmark on her upper left thigh and sharing same with prospective boss

When you have chips at home you put gravy on them. when you have chips from a chip shop you put vinegar on them. Obviously!
And when you get eels from a pie & mash shop you put them in the bin. Like brussels sprouts. Obviously.

Leaving your Bobbyburns undone.

Jellied eels are delicious. As is pie and mash smothered in liquor (and that's not booze, it's green gravy). Yum.

You know, if you eat fish pie in a restaurant or buy a fish pie from a supermarket, very often the main fishy ingredient will be conger eel rather than the cod or coley that most people expect.

We don't get anything as exotic as a jellied eel up here. Battered sausage though. That's the best.

Ooh, I do like a battered sausage. The chip shop round the corner does a lovely battered sausage.

I'll swap you - send me a battered sausage, and I'll send you some Hobnob flapjack. That's presuming you haven't bullied a shop into selling them yet.

Can't you just send me the flapjack and save me the journey out of the house? It's cold out there and I'm not wearing any shoes.
