game.- guess the tale

You don't know that it's right.

The sawdust might have been from his wooden leg.
Or from holes drilled in the floor through which poison gas was pumped in.
Maybe he was mortally afeared of woodworm and had a heart attack.

Anyhoo, maybe this will stop Watercrystal sulking...

Two identical twin brothers go into a bar. They order the exact same drink. One brother drinks his quickly, while the other drinks his much more slowly. The one who drinks slowly dies afterwards.

I don't have many of these silly things left to me. And the ones I do have aren't particularly tricky, but here goes...

A woman gives evidence in court that her sister murdered her husband. Her testimony is undeniable. But the judge feels unable to punish the sister.

but yours has a lot of similitudes, and since the idea its getting the full story, with all the details getting just yes or not for an answer i guess i should continue the game
ill just point your right points:

He's the shortest man in the world and the second shortest man in the world has been sawing bits off his stick. He picks up his walking stick, notices it's shorter than usual, sees no sawdust so there is no sign that the stick has been tampered with, concludes that he must be growing, then he either dies from the shock, or from the sadness of no longer being the shortest man in the world.

from this the end of the tale should be pretty obvious, but still have to find how many and who are the characters, and the reason among other details
 
The second shortest man in the world wants his job.

Or, the second shortest man in the world fancies his woman, but she's fickle and only likes really short men, preferably the shortest man in the world.

So he snuck in and sawed down all the furniture in the room knowing that it would send his rival bonkers.

I know you didn't highlight the second shortest man, but I'm keeping him in coz I like him. He has a moustache and a bowler hat and an insanely evil cackle.

But it must still have been the moustachioed midget in the bowler hat what done the deed, surely? Oh please, someone let me keep my tiny, but perfectly evil creation.
