Ghostwriters

Hi all,

I was wondering : I've all my ideas already, all my plots and plans etc. I can write the entire book out, but since I'm no god of English verbs, tenses, prepositions and word-plays(especially!), I'm thinking of hiring a ghostwriter to write the book for me.

Mainly, the ghostwriter will convert my written manuscript and do word-play and colorful descriptions on it, like "The sun, a brilliant disk, starts to sink beneath the mellow stills"(that kinda colorful wordfun you found in novels on the shelves); I'm totally lacking in this field and I find it much more fun to express my ideas instead of getting into technical writing.

Has anyone here hired a ghostwriter before? Are they worth the money?(how much do reputable ghostwriters charge?)
I'm also scared that they might just get my story, do the work on it, and sell it as their own.

Thanks!
Xeon. ;)

I'd guess you'd have to be a bizniss-man to do sumpin' like that!

LOL.......well, I've savings. ;)
By the way, if you aspire to be a writier, you gotta change "bizniss" to "business" and "sumpin'" to "something". :D
Unless you plan to write a chick-lit book for gangster girls. :D:)

Good day,
Xeon.

I have never used a ghostwriter, being only 17 and too young (and lacking in finances) to hire one. ^-^ While I don't necessarily think it's a bad or dishonest thing for a writer to do, I don't think I would hire one if I could. I'm a control freak when it comes to my stories. If something is wrong with it, like a spelling error, or my character is too hard to believe, I will happily try to change it, but I need to feel like I'm in complete and total control of everything. I couldn't let someone else do that. Which is probably why no one can stand writing essays with me! ^^
Good luck with your book, Xeon. I don't know how well you know stigmaticman, but he doesn't usually talk like that. He was just joking around. I think. ^^

Just write the damn thing yourself and find your style. You don't need colorful descriptions; you just need good descriptions when appropriate.

Thanks Valkyrie, I understand. This is the first time I see him here.

Which brings to mind one thing : suppose that we intend to put up our stories on the web, we need to shorten them and present them in a different style, right? Because given the nature of the web, it's pretty hard to read stories and long essays online. ;)

Thanks all!
Xeon.
