Was browsing around tonight and found this forum, took a look at some of the posts and thought this might be a great way to get new ideas on books to read as well as share some of my favorites. My tastes are pretty specific when it come to fiction I really love...all of my favorite books have fangs!

I seriously collect vampire books (have a number of movies as well) and werewolves follow a close second. Last count on the vampire books was over 350, not sure on the werewolf books, haven't counted them in awhile. And now days, sometimes it is hard to define books that specifically as many authors have more than one supernatural species in their books.

Am currently reading "The Awakening" by L.A.Banks, book 2 in the Vampire Huntress Legends...you know, for awhile it was tough to find anything on vampires but there are some awesome authors writing in the sci-fi/fantasy genre now that have brought new life to the tired old legends. I am very appreciative!!!

Thanks for the welcomes...LOL...and you guys slay me, really you do!!

Despite the preference for fangs, there are no coffins here and no other vampire paraphernalia. The only real fangs on the place are canine...lol...but I do love the genre when it comes to whiling away a few hours.

My collection covers classic horror, sci-fi, romance...even a vampire joke book...lol...although most of the jokes will make you groan rather than laugh. Am looking forward to being a part of this forum, sounds like there is alot of humor here as well.

It's a a vampire like creature that has been seen throughout South American and recently in the Southern States of the U.S. It's name means "goat sucker" in Spanish because first sightings of the creature many goats were found totally drained of their blood. It feeds on any small to medium animal. Twin bit marks are found and all the blood drained from the animal. It's said to be a gargoyle like creature of about 4ft in hight with large glowing eyes.

Ah yes, I have heard of that, although I forgot the name....I certainly do not know any more about it than Wabbit does...lol...in fact, less....
 
Hello, I like vampire books too, maybe you can recomend some good ones. I finished reading one a while ago. Beyond the Pale by Savanna Russe. I also like horror, mystery, fantasy, sci fi, paranormal, etc. I just loved to read. Welcome :)

Hey Dolphinfire...lol...how long of a list would you like?? Do you prefer classic vampire tales, the newer fantasy type, paranormal romance type?? There are all kinds out there these days...

My absolute favorite is Laurell K. Hamilton's series...The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter books.

Susan Sizemore has 2 series...Laws of the Blood...and then 3 romance ones...

Christine Feehan (paranormal romance), Kim Harrison (fantasy), Kelley Armstrong (fantasy), Jim Butcher (sci-fi/fantasy), Nina Bangs (paranormal romance), L.A. Banks (fantasy), P.N.Elrod (fantasy), Christopher Golden, Steven Spruill....I could name tons of others, but this will give you a start....
