The Secret Life of Bees- Sue Monk Kidd
Lonesome Dove- Larry McMurtry
The Five People You Meet in Heaven- Mitch Albom
I am Legend- Richard Matheson
Blindness- Jose Saramago

i'm going to buy blindness next. i've heard nothing but good things about it.

five of my favourites:

red tent-anita diamant
the way the crow flies- anne marie macdonald
the stand-stephen king
cold moutain- charles frazier
even cowgirls get the blues- tom robbins

tried to throw in a few different genres in case you lean towards a particular one.

thanks guys, I will check on them tommorow, my favorite genres are horror, tripped out novels like "fear and loathing in las vegas" "pulp fiction". hope that helps you all with naming books

Stephen King classics, like Pet Semetary, It, The Stand, The Shining, 'Salem's Lot... those are some of the best by him. In case you've read 'em all (I see you're a horror fan), here are some others:

Horror: Dracula by Bram Stoker, Rulers of Darkness by Stephen Spirull

Tripped out: The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon

As far as my personal favorites go... well... that's a different list :p

I like horror/ trip-out, too. Some of my other favs from that genre are
Haunted- Chuck Palahniuk (I thought this was f-r-e-a-k-y)
The Relic- Preston & Child
anything by Stephen King, but not everything by King is horror, mind you
any one of the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton
Sunglasses After Dark- Nancy A. Collins
