Can someone recommend me some good Romances (preferably Christian)?

A friend of mine has recommended a book called 'Redeeming Love', and it's quite good. I would like to recommend a book in return. She loves romances, especially Christian romances.

Any help at all would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I don't read too much romance but I've heard that Debbie Macomber is a good choice for gentle romances. Her novel Someday Soon was rated very high by fans on Amazon.com.

I was into Christian fiction and romances a few years ago. One of my favorite romance writers was Lori Wick. I enjoyed all the books by her that I read, so I would recommend anything by her.

One book that impressed me was Voice In the Wind by Francine Rivers. It's an historical Christian romance set in Rome about 117 AD. It's about a Jewish girl sold as a slave into a Roman household. I remember it as extremely well written. It later spawned two sequels.

wow, i've just realized how little romance i read-i read mostly action. anyway, shakespeare is good, such as romeo and juliet or a midsummer night's dream. then, i've heard that the english patient is quite good. how old are you and your friend?

The Scarlet Pimpernel is good for some romance and daring adventure. Some of the sequels also have quite a bit of romance involved such as I Will Repay.

I guess the only thing I've read that I would consider slightly romance is the short story "Brokeback Mountain" by Annie Proulx. It's in her collection of stories called "Close Range: Wyoming Stories" I'm sure your library has a copy.

You could try both The Notebook and A Walk to Remember, both by Nicholas Sparks. I'm not sure about the books, but my Christian grandmother has seen both movies and she loves them.

I think that she was looking for Christian books :)

Thank you everyone for your responses.

I'm 35 and she's 37.

It looks like 'A Walk to Remember' might be a good pick - a nice combination of romance, spirituality and emotions.

Are Christian romances ones with no shagging in?

LOL, I would imagine so. ;)

As Appolonia already mentioned, Lori Wick is a good one, also Beverly Lewis and Janette Oke as well.

What about Gone With The Wind by Margareth Mitchell? It's a classic romance. Haven't read it myself yet, but have ordered it from the Norwegian publicer, since it wasn't possible to get hold of it in the bookstores.
Cant' tell if its a Christian romance though......
