Hi there!

I stumbled across this site while looking for quotes from Skinny Legs and All. I'm so pleased to have found you!

I'm a 35 year old stay home mom to two boys. I'm an avid reader who's always looking for more books to read.

There's a lot to read here, looking forward to it.

Welcome, welcome, welcome. Finally, another stay-at-home mom on the forum!! Stick around, your list of books to read is sure to grow!

Hello and welcome! You are sure to find many new books here! What kinds of books are you into? :)

Thanks everyone.

I'm into books, period. Most of the books I've read have been fiction, but I'm open to just about anything interesting. The only genre that doesn't really ring my bell is sci-fi. Other than that, I'm open! ;)

Welcome, Jen!

No sci-fi?! :(

Oh, well, I suppose we'll still let you stay. :p

Like mysteries? What authors do you like?

Yes, love mysteries!

I used to follow some authors religiously -Cornwell, King, Patterson, among others - but I found that that habit tends to get somewhat boring after a while: many of their books were starting to run together for me, if that makes sense. That was probably also due to the fact that I would read several books by the same author in a row.

I'm not particularly author-driven anymore, I will read anything that gets my attention.

I've recently discovered Tom Robbins(Skinny Legs and all is so far my fave), Christopher Moore and Robert Boswell and am looking forward to reading more of their books, particularly the last two.

I guess when I may have misspoken when I said sci-fi doesn't really ring my bell because I do like King and some of his books probably do qualify as sci-fi. I was an avid King reader when I was younger, then I sort of burnt out on him. I picked up Bag of Bones several years ago and fell in love all over again. I have to say I prefer his post-accident writings to most of his older books.

Thanks again for all the welcomes. :)

Tom Robbins like a mofo, yo! Have you read 'Jitterbug Perfume'? If you haven't you should...it's superb. I love his language and the characters are off the hizzellss...!

Welcome.

Welcome.

No, I haven't read that one yet. I've read Skinny Legs and All, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, and Still Life with Woodpecker. I have Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas in my "to read" stack.

You're not the first to recommend Jitterbug Perfume, I'll definitely be reading that one too - eventually - my "to read" stack is almost as tall as I am, heh.
