First time to post here - Hi!
I'm about to drive myself crazy trying to think of this author. I only read one book by him - it was a mystery, but funny. He reminded me of Carl Hiaasen (but wasn't him, obviously).
The main guy worked at a newspaper, and somehow started looking for a missing woman. The story was about the music business, and someone stealing a song from someone else. I believe the name of the book was actually the name of the stolen song.
But all kind of crazy things happened, including the protag. getting out of a sticky situation by hitting someone that was trying to kill him over the head with a frozen iguana he kept in his freezer.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
