Hi everyone,
I'm Ashlee, 20 years old from Yorkshire.
I've only just started reading, but I've got lots of classics lined up.

My favourite books so far are Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry, which I had to read for GCSE at school and Patrick McCabe's The Butcher Boy.

I'm currently reading Pride And Prejudice but finding it a bit boring :eek:

Hi Ashlee. It's funny you mentioned Pride and Prejudice. I just starting reading it last nite but was soooo bored with it that I decided not to torture myself anymore and move on to another book. I really wanted to love it, honest I did, but the language was too foreign and I felt there was just too much sensless dialogue. But I am going to rent the movie. I realize this is a classis and I have read many classics but this one I just could not get into.

Welcome.

I usually [try to] read the first sixty pages of a booK. If I'm not hooked by then, I'll fling it over the nearest hedge. And some books are so annoying that I'll hurl them hedgewards after a mere twenty five pages ;0)

Anyway, life's too short, and there are too many good books out there to waste time by forcing yourself to read something that has little meaning for you.

<of course I don't really fling them - I just imagine that I do> ;0)

I loved Pride and Prejudice, but guess it's not for everyone :eek:
