You're so lucky your husband also reads....mine does not read very often (beside bathroom readers). I have to go outside the home to discuss books.

I like to read all sorts of things. I like Charlaine Harris and Michael Cunningham, J.K. Rowling and Agatha Christie, Leonard Shlain and Daniel Mendelsohn. I'm sort of all over the map.
I do have my stash of reading I guess, which consists of mystery and vampire based fantasy. I'm not really a big fan of Anne Rice though. And I don't consider myself a fantasy reader, most of it I just can't manage.
Part of the reason I am here is to gain exposure to things that I wouldn't normally think of to read, such as the Feb and March books of the month.
As for my husband being a reader, yes, it is wonderful. I am thankful he is and can't imagine it another way. But we do have differing tastes. He reads Clancy, every one of them I think. I've read two Clancy's. And he is more open to the fantasy genre than I am. But the things we do read together we have a lot of fun with. Sometimes it gets hectic: I hope he doesn't remember that I got to read the last Potter before he did, so he doesn't demand to read book 7 first.

I did read my husband's favorite book (Dune) and had a good time discussing it with him. He never got around to reading one of my favorites. Oh well. He hasn't even read HP! He looked at me as if I was insane when I was crying at the end of 6.
My dad and I discuss books often. We both enjoy Clancy and others of that genre. So at least I have someone around to discuss books with these days!
