I'm a new optimistic reader. That is I haven't been reading much and I'm optimistic that I might want to. I just have trouble finding the right books and amazon top 100 lists aren't helping.

I tend to like general fiction, like books that aren't really in one genre and tend to be in a modern setting. Also like sci-fi. Love Terry Pratchet but I'm not a fan of fantasy. I just like his writing style.

I'm with ya. Barnes and Noble is the same with crappy top lists. I tend to rely on recommendations of others. I gotta say I'm super tired of the whole vampire/succubus fantasy aspect.
