Help! Looking for new series

Hey all! I'm new to the site, and I have an interesting predicament: I'm out of fantasy books to read. I have tried for hours on end to find a new fantasy series that suites my high expectations, but there simply doesn't seem to be a good fantasy series that I haven't read. Trust me, I've read quite a lot of fantasy books. Here is a list of just some of the titles I have read:

  • The Inheritance Cycle (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, Inheritance)
  • Fablehaven
  • Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus
  • Artemis Fowl
  • Warriors
  • Incarceron
  • The Divide
  • Bartimaues
  • Lockwood & Co.
  • Watership Down
And many, many others. I have read over 200 fantasy books, so there is a good chance that I have sucked the fantasy genre dry of all of the finer writing. For a little backround, my favorite author is either Jonathan Stroud or Richard Adams, and my favorite book is Ptolemy's Gate.

I really need as much help as I can get, and I'll be sure to let you know if I have read the title you suggest!

Well a few authors that I would say are worth a look at are,

Terry Pratchett - he writes good humor filled books

Michael J. Sullivan - his Riyria Revelations series was amazing

Mercedes Lackey - another great fantasy author who has a number of series that are worth a read

Kristen Britain - the green rider books I enjoyed

Lloyd Alexander - I have read a few of his books that are good

Piers Anthony - a favorite author of mine

Robin Hobb - also has good series

Terry Brooks - a very good writer

I hope that I have mentioned some another that you haven't read and given you some new books to read :)

I love Fablehaven! Trying to get my oldest daughter to read it now. :)

Hm. Not sure if it's "good" fantasy, but definitely kept my attention - have you tried Cassandra Clare's Mortal Insturments series?

A lot of people like Robin McKinley for fantasy, though in my experience her stories seem to drag a bit.

I really like Tamora Pierce for fantasy. Start with Alanna and see if you like that. She's written a ton - her books got me addicted to reading again after a very long dry spell. :)

I second The Game of Thrones - an excellent series.

You might also look at the different series by Guy Gavriel Kay.

Neal Stephenson - The Baroque Cycle (though maybe more sci-fi than fantasy).

I really loved the amount of effort put into creating a realistic world in the Inheritance Cycle, so if that was an aspect you particularly enjoyed, I would suggest the Shadowmarch series, by Tad Williams. It has more than 20 points of view throughout the series that make it slightly confusing, but it is by far the best and most involving high-fantasy series I have read, and it creates a world with its own culture and history. Also, the Wheel of Time series is almost a complete replica of the Inheritance Cycle in my opinion, but quite interesting.

You might also what to look at some of Terry Brooks books a he has another great fantasy writer.
