4 years ago i remember reading my sisters books she borrowed from the library. I remember it was a book filled with small stories in there. I think it was called 'Even more naughty stories for good boys and girls' By and Australian author Christopher Milne. One story was very very sad.
It was about a dog called Tiny ( i think) the story had somthing to do with a poor man who owned the dog.. the dog would help him beg for money by the locals by dancing on his back legs... one day the towns people got angry for some reason and threw the man down a well.
the dog tries to help his owner by dragging and pushing the food down the well for the man, soon the dog died, i think it was from starvation or sumthing. but i remember it was physically hurt also. When the man got out of the well, he burried his dog friend and on the cemetry stone he put 'my friend tiny' which may or may not have been the titel of that story.
i remember this story really stood out for me and i was wondering if anyone else has heard of it, and if so what is the authors name and the books name. and if it is published on the internet somewhere.
please reply.

Hello Susan,

I think the book you refer to may be one of 13 volumes originally published in 1991 by Milne Books under the title (rather long) "The Complete Book of Naughty Stories for Good Boys and Girls" ISBN:O6463952.

That said, our Mr Milne - whom I have not heard of until now- seems to have been (or is) quite a prolific author; must be to have his own publishing house, for there are other titles in the "Naughty Boy" category, namely "Even More Naughty Stories etc etc..." ISB: 064615365X and the original "Naughty Stories etc etc..."

Each book containing aproximately four stories. As to the actual volume containing your story, that I cannot say. I hope the ISBN Numbers are of some help to you; perhaps your local library can assist. Good luck!
