So I'm new and I'm here to get advice about how to bring reading back into my daily life. It's something I miss more than anything and for the past few months, I've really lost my drive to even pick up a book and I need to get back into my stories. Real life is proving to be way too much for me.

:welcome Welcome, Kait! We're happy to have you! What kind of books did you like best before you stopped reading? I'm sure we could come up with some helpful recommendations. :)
 
I read a lot of paranormal/sci-fi type stuff. I like anything but I found that I got into this rut and I felt like I was just reading the same stuff over and over again with every story I was reading.

My suggestion is to go visit a library and browse. Look for something completely different. Maybe even forget stories for awhile and check out some non-fiction books on things that interest you: history, art, animals, paranormal, fitness, nutrition.

If you've been reading contemporary work, and it is beginning to all read the same (big surprise there), why not go for some of the classic novels?

Our brains enjoy "cross-training" and need variety to stay happy. Give a taste of something different.
