Great to be a part of your forum. I look forward to discussing lots of books--especially the latest thrillers/suspense/mysteries. I love to read Patterson, Preston, Rollins, Cussler, DeMille...and dozens more.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like we have some similar reading interests. I like the supense/mystery/thrillers too. I think there might be a few more here as well, although two of them might be the same person....

Hi Gordon, welcome to BAR!

I'm also a fan of thrillers/suspense/mysteries. What's your favorite Patterson series?

James Patterson

Hi Landslide!

I really like Patterson's Alex Cross books. I've only read a couple of his other novels, and they didn't pull me in--not like the Cross books. Did you catch that great interview he did for the Wall Street Journal? I knew he'd become an "industry" but I had no idea how his work really is an obvious business with so many people dependent on it. If you haven't already, check out the interview at: James Patterson - Speakeasy - WSJ It's fascinating!

Thanks for sharing, Gordon. That was a funny interview. I knew he launched more than one book a year, but I had no idea of the real number. It's a lot of books!

Kansas City? I lived there for a year. Loved the area, hated the job. I miss me some Arthur Bryants, Oklahoma Joes, Jack Stack, ZardaQ, Gates, etc.

Now I want BBQ! :(

Anyhoo, welcome to BAR.

Welcome!

I also lived in KC for a year. I was a kid, but I remember being able to get tickets really cheap to Royals' games, which were a lot of fun (Kaufman Stadium, if my memory serves me). Great steaks too. Welcome!

I haven't read any of the Alex Cross books, but I did hear a different book by James Patterson. It was okay.
The books based off of the tv show Castle are all right too...you might like those if you're a mystery fan, Gordon.
