Hi everyone! Recently found this forum and am eager to chat with you all! I have a variety of interests in books. I'm currently on a horror genre kick at the moment. Look forward to discussing books with you all!:D

Hello BlueCat and welcome. Is Orange County where Orange County Choppers comes from? My husband is an absolute fan of that programme.:)

Welcome to the forum, blue cat. :) I see you're reading the new Stephen King - I'll have a bit of a wait because I wait for the paperbacks. Is it good so far?

Welcome cat!. Interesting book that you are reading, I definitely have to order from Amazon.

Have you been looking under the stairs again? I done told you keep away!

Blue Cat, I bid you welcome! Enjoy :)

I've seen that program a few times myself. They're based out of the East Coast. West Coast Choppers - Jesse James is from here (Long Beach - close enough;) )

Stephen King has a way of sucking me into his novels. I originally thought the book was going to be silly but now I'm hooked. I'm even sneaking in reading a few pages at work. Don't tell my boss :D

Way to stick it to "the man." :D

I understand that a huge percentage of bosses regularly monitor emails and personal computer use at work.

Our IT Department at work had sent numerous emails about that...which is why I do my surfiing at home. They even block various sites from being viewed. A friend of mine at work went to check the lottery numbers and was denied access to the internet site.

Ah. The word has already gone out to the wise, then. ;)

My workplace does that as well. At the end of the year, a confidential report is sent to the big honcho by the IT guy, which lists all the URLs visited and contains a brief summary. I know this as I once dropped in to talk to the big cheese about adding a new extra-curricular program that I was eager to head. He left the room and I was able to spy the cover page of the report an arm's length from me.

On a somewhat related note, New York mayor Michael Bloomberg led reporters around some state office and came upon a worker who was playing solitaire. He took photos with the guy and then had some underling fetch-mokey fire the guy. If I remember correctly, he earned $27,000 a year. Now where I live, that is decent money, but in New York City, it's payment straight out of The Jungle. I would've played card games on the computer too for that amount. clickety
