Hi, I've just joined this site and decided to introduce myself.
I'm from the southwest of England and I am a (practically) lifelong reading addict. I mostly like to read classics, horror, fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction, crime fiction, conspiracy thrillers and mysteries. I also like to read poetry and non-fiction books on science, history, the paranormal, and crime.
Among my favourite books are Dracula, The Count of Monte Cristo, Les Miserables, The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, Le Morte d'Arthur, Treasure Island, I Am Legend, Lorna Doone, Far from the Madding Crowd, Bleak House, De Profundis, Ivanhoe, The Great Gatsby, Jamaica Inn, Moby Dick, Vanity Fair, Wuthering Heights, The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
I also love the short fiction of MR James, EF Benson, Elizabeth Gaskell and Edgar Allan Poe, and I am a big fan of the works of Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy, James Herbert, Stephen King, Kate Mosse, Dan Brown, Jeffrey Archer, Virginia Coffman, Stephen Leather, Tom Clancy, Janny Wurts, Richard Montanari, Ruth Rendell, Clive Cussler, Colin Wilson, Philippa Gregory, Arthur C Clarke and Stephen Baxter.
When I'm not reading, in my spare time I also enjoy drawing, photography, hiking, birdwatching, and visiting museums and art galleries. I also volunteer with the homeless in my local area.
Anyway, I hope to make some friends on here and look forward to joining you all in some of the discussions on these forums.
