Barack Obama is the only black Senator. One out of a hundred. I promise you that isn't a coincidence. Racism can be a subtle thing.

Just some food for thought.....

While you are correct that there is only one African-American in the senate, there are 40
 in the House of Representatives. African-Americans constitute 12% of the total U.S. population. When you count the 40 African-American representatives and Obama, that equates to a respectable percentage compared to say those of Irish or Italian backgrounds.
