*Poirot from Christie novels. He is so arrogant that I absolutely cannot stand him. He's better than Mrs. Marple, though...
He is human, Garfield is a cat. I love cats...humans, eh.piedro said:awwww. come on he is so sweet. the ridiculous conceited man who thinks the world cant survive without his brains
christie has given her books lots of humour with this concept.i agree about miss marple. she is extremely boring.
i know that such characters can be intolerable to some.but i personally dont mind them. look at garfield! the lazy wicked vain good-for-nothing ungrateful troublesome cat and i absolutely love him!!!
I think the whole book was a bit overdone with emotions...all the characters seemed to be in one state (Harry=Angry, Umbridge=Evil). I certainly did not enjoy Order of the Phoenix as well as the other books.piedro said:Proffeser Umbridge tops my hate list without a doubt
but i personally thought that was a bad piece of writing by Rowling. i mean , she has shown her to be completely , utterly bad. she was so....you know... reeking with badness.
there were no other dimension to her character. at every point in the book the only purpose in her life seemed to be being nasty to the good kids , sucking the happiness out of their lives. come on , nobody is that horrible! trying the cruciatus curse on Harry!! who are you kidding
i think Rowling overdid it. It just left the reader with a bad taste in his mouth and with a feeling of hate
