I'm new here, but anyway the idea of this thread is that one user tells what kind of Sci-fi, horror or fantasy book he or she wants. Then another user recommends something for that user and tells what kind of book he or she wants. ...And the circle goes on.

I`ll start.

I want a mature fantasy/sci-fi novel with an epic storyline and Characters with interesting personalities and that you really care about.

Excuse me if this has been done before. :whistling:

First, welcome to BAR.

Second, great idea for a thread and I do not think it has been done before.

My suggestions:

Fantasy: Lord of the Rings (yes, I went there)

SciFi: Asimov's Foundation series.

I want a good book or three that are a good introduction to the Warhammer 40k universe.

Thank you for welcoming me in here. I hope I will have a great time using BAR in the future as well as I am rigth now :)

But could you recommend any other fantasy books except for LotR which answer my wishes?

...And no. I do not know any books that gives you a good intruduction to the Warhammer 40k universe. :(

The Robin Hobb series:

The Farseer Trilogy
The Liveship Trader Trilogy
The Tawny Man Trilogy
The Rain Wilds Trilogy (not completed yet)

Contrary to what some may say, the series should be read in this order. If you are paying attention while reading, you will know why. :)

There is nothing that I am looking for at the moment. I have plenty to read.

Too bad. It's a game and you're playing. Not to worry I can choose for you.

You want: A religious/philosophical, introspective work of esoteric metafiction.

I recommend: VALIS by Philip K. Dick (And if you act now you can contribute at the December Book of the Month thread ;) )

I want: Something that mixes adult humor, conspiracy, real people and is contained in less than, say, 300 pages.

It's a short story but Victoria by Paul Di Filippo is exactly what you are looking for, Joderu.

Ooooo, good recommendation, as I already have it and have already read it (twice). :D

Want-
A fantasy book were the main charactere is a farm hand (but who's real origine are of top level kingdom) and could be involved in a quest for a magic artifact that alone could save the known world, i'd apriciate if the odds were near impossible but somehow the group(a mix of races and classes) would succed at the end.
Ps/ if there could be a good looking wench who despises the lad at the start but fall on her back after he rescued her,i know it's asking a lot.

Thanks

Ummm..all of them?

Want - A fantasy book where the main character is a prince, but eventually works his way down to stablehand, and he starts off with a very powerful artifact that could save the world, but loses or breaks it. It would also be nice if his usual main squeeze grows to dislike him over time until she eventually kills him.

I wonder if you guys could help,I want an adventure book, between The Alchemist and Lawrance Of Arabia with a Jules Verne feel to it and a Marco Polo touch..
main elements : History,Action some Archeology, some fiction some Sci-Fi and spirituality/Philosophy is an extra

Does such book exist? Or Am I asking for the impossible?!!!

I actually posted this in a separate thread and got no replies
I hope this is the right place! :)

Thanks in advance
