The first thing that comes to mind would be having a cookout and maybe having a bonfire in the evening on a quiet part of a Lake Michigan beech where is can listen to the waves. I'd have some of my favorite beers and some grilled bratwurst n' sauerkraut.

My favourite places are Greenwich Village in the late 1950's hanging around with the beatniks and London in 1890 being best buddies (in a non-biblical way!) with Oscar Wilde's jet-set crowd.

The nice thing about this thread is that it's made me realise how happy I am right now, right here. The sun is shining, I was by the beach earlier, the swifts are back and nesting in my roof and the daffodils are stunning. Only thing is, I move in September...

I'd love to hang out on a beach. Way overdue, in my opinion.

In fact, the very beach I have in mind is Pulau Redang here in M'sia. The link I've provided isn't the best on the island, and the pix are puny, but everyone I know who's been there can't stop talking about when they are going to go back there again.
