About six months ago I picked up a book in a doctor's office and read the first couple chapters, but I can't remember the name of the book or the author. Nor do I know the main character's name. All I know is this:
The story starts with a woman who just left her husband. It talks about him cheating w/his secretary. So she heads back to her hometown. I remember her mentioning that she was wearing his favorite italian shirt and spilled food on it. She gets drunk with her aunt/grandma and the sheriff (an old crush) takes her up to her room. The specific that stands out in my mind is that the woman had a big crush on the now sheriff and once while she was younger climbed in his room and took her clothes off.... and he threw up at her feet. That's a bad description but it's all I can't remember. Please help!
