Inquiries of a Young Reader.

I am a young reader who is interested in broadening his knowledge of literature. Usually I enjoy books that are applicable to life e.g. The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene, The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene, and Evolve your Brain by Joe Dispenza. I also enjoy a darker subject matter like 1984 by George Orwell. Eventually I would like to work my way up to reading Nietzsche and other famous philosophers but what should I be reading before I take on these challenging intellectual bodies of work. Suggestions? (Greek Mythology? Classics? Useful Self Help Books? Interesting Contemporary Pieces? Poetry? Thought Provoking Authors? Etc.?)

There are a whole host of post apocalyptic types books out. Browse amazon.com or something for books like the Hunger Games.
The stuff by Rick Riordan is interesting if you already know some of the greek myths. I've only heard the audiotapes so I dunno.

Oh, you might like Shipbreaker. That's YA, post apocalyptic. Very well written.
