is harry harrison any good ?

The only Harrison book that I've read was 'Make Room! Make Room!' and I thought that it was okay, though I prefer the movie 'Soylent Green' that was based on the setting from the book.

I have read some Harrison and definately enjoyed his 'Eden' series. My partner quite liked the 'Stainless Steel Rat' series he wrote but that isn't a plot I personally would enjoy.

I read a few of his Stainless Steel Rat books many years ago, as there was an adaptation in 2000AD comic that got me interested. I can't remember any details, but I did enjoy them. :)

Try some of his short stories. Amazon has 50 in 50, which has a good sample. I recommend 'The Streets of Ashkelon' - I'm not sure if it is in this selection, I read it years ago in The Best of HH.

My God - I'd completely forgotten about Stainless Steel Rat. What a blast from the past that is!:)

Showing my age again! :D *Wonders if they're available in the collected graphic novels...*

Got me thinking about 2000AD now. I was quite addicted when I was at school.

Splundig vur thrig!:D:D

I just finished reading the fist two Eden books, they're fantastic. The last book a bit hard to get hold of though. I think they would make great movies, they are quite visual.

I read the Stainless Steel Rat books when I was a teen and loved them too, I think A stainless Steel Rat is Born is the best one.

cheers,
Simon
