Isaac Asimov -- Where is that photo?

Vern

I'm trying to discover where I saw a particular photo of Isaac Asimov. I think it may have been on the back of a book jacket, perhaps one of his autobiographies. Of the books I've checked that have jackets, I've not found that photo.

The photo is of Asimov with an unbrella held high hailing a taxi. Does anyone remember seeing that particular photo and where it appeared?

Thanks for thinking about it!

According to this website the photo is in the books: Have You Seen These and The Early Asimov. The website above discusses the former book - note the interesting change to the image:

The front cover, as one might expect, shows a generic spaceship on a flying past a generic planetary surface and has nothing to do with the book. The picture on the back cover is a bit of a kick, however: it’s stolen from The Early Asimov, where Asimov is shown on a New York street, holding a “Doubleday” bag and hailing a taxi— except that the word “Doubleday” on the bag has been mysteriously covered by “NESFA PRESS.” Hmm…
According to this site the picture was also in The Gods Themselves:

:) Hope that helps!

Well, I don't know about Vern, but it certainly helped me! He was just leaving a booksigning session, no doubt! ;)

Thanks, Kookie!

Thanks much! I'll try to find one or more of those books to find a good picture to scan.
