Fforde has, so far, written four books in the Thursday Next (that's the name of his heroine) series: "The Eyre Affair", "Lost In A Good Book", "The Well Of Lost Plots" and "Something Rotten".

Also going to try the Malcolm Pryce books (at least the first one Aberystwyth Mon Amour)

I agree with any and all praise for Fforde.

I've also read Aberystwyth mon amour; it was good & clever fun but not as brilliantly genius as Fforde (superlatives, anyone? ). But I will read the sequel, because I think what I had against it was mostly first-novel not-quite-there-yet things which could have been done better.

There's actually 4 books in the set, thought there was three when i ordered it, makes it even better value at £16.50

You are lucky. That is a good buy. Darn Amazon in the U.S. does not offer the set. i checked it out and with shipping it would be pretty high for me to order from the U.K.

I've read the whole Thursday Next series and I absolutely love and adore Jasper Fforde. He's a comic genius. And it's not only funny, it's also very smart and full of literary references. I can't thank mrkgnao enough for introducing me to this series. I promise, it's like nothing you've read or are likely to read again. READ IT!

I'm looking forward to this one, although this and The Big Over Easy are in another series than the Thursday Next books, though they're very much related. Why don't all books come in paperback right away? (I know why, but I'm cheap )
