Jeff Lindsay: Darkly Dreaming Dexter

I've read the first and the second books and I also prefer the tv series. I liked the second book more but that may have to do with the fact that it's totally different from the series. The story of the first book seemed to me very poor in comparison with the way it was told on the series. I didn't really get the ending of the first book, it seemed rushed and incomplete. As for the ending of the second book, I loved it. I found it was just perfect the way Dexter's problem
(sargent Doakes)
is taken care of without his direct involvment (and therefore, without breaking Harry's code).

Well I watched both of the TV series and enjoyed them enormously. What a strange hero to have "a serial killer" But I will have to now search up the book also.
Alan.

Just getting to the end of Darkly Dreaming Dexter. Had it yesterday and haven't been able to put it down. I have seen the TV series, so there won't be any surprises, but page turning stuff.
Have to send to amazon for the rest of them now.
Received in the post a Morse omnibus, so won't be short of things to read.

In fact, there will be surprises, as the tv series plot is different from the book in many ways...

Does anyone feel a little guilty for liking the books or TV show? I find myself thinking that he should be caught but hoping he doesn't. I console myself with the knowledge that the Dexter character is so far afield from actual serial killers that it is like hoping your favorite vampire doesn't get staked. :banghead6mx:
