I hate to admit it, but I was hooked. I'm not certain if it was the mindless bacchanalian behavior, but I think that had a large part to do with it. I also got a kick out muscle bound Ronnie knocking people out left and right.

I watched a couple of episodes show. Just watched the clips they show on E tv's the Soup. I watched a couple of seasons of The real world, and this looked a little like it, just a little bit more scank and testosterone.

I might of watched it, but I thought the girls were repulsive...and not just looks here, just drunken girls gone wild with horrid accents (and they really were not that good looking either hehe). reminded me a bit of my collage days at Ohio Stae...been there done that. ;)

That guy was a teacher in New York. He lost his job when this whole thing went viral.

Too bad, not long ago you could still listen to the mp3 of this story from This American Life for free. Here's the synopsis from their website where you can still dl it for like $.99.

We hear from New York City school teachers about a secret room in the New York City Board of Education building. Teachers are told to report there, and when they arrive, they find out they're under investigation for something. They have to wait in this room all day, every day, until the matter is cleared up. They call this bureaucratic purgatory "the rubber room." Some teachers have been stuck in it for years.

I watched the first two eps just now. Wow, these people are ridiculous, but it's like a train wreck. I have to know how it ends up.

I know. That is why Mtv doesn't come to my house.
-Wake up
-Go to work
-Take care of the kiddos
-go to bed.

Somewhere in the middle I forgot about clubbing, binge drinking, and knocking people out.:lol:

landslide-It is a "reality" show using the word loosely. They put these people together in a house and turn them loose to party and do their thing. The rest is just pure carnage.
 
So, it's "normal" people together in a house partying all day? But do they get out of the house? And why would people want to see that?

I know a lot of Italian-Americans and NJers are offended by the mere existence of this show. As someone who is part of both groups, I just sit back and laugh since I've seen and even met several people who would get along with the cast just fine*. Not to say those who speak out against the show are completely in the wrong; something showing a more positive portrayal of New Jersey would be nice.

*The fist-pumping, however, is new to me. Also, two people who used to live near me was featured in two episodes of this show. The one girl, nicknamed "The Grenade" was rowdier than I remember her being pre-JS, but her sister ("The Grenade Launcher") didn't change a bit.

Yeah they leave the house. They all have to work at this t-shirt store in order to stay at the house. They go to clubs and bars and engage is various forms of idiocy. It's very similar to The Real World but much more obnoxious.

Oh, ok. Thanks for clarifying that for me. It seems to be exactly the kind of show I wouldn't waste my time with...
