Justina Robson: Keeping it Real - Quantum Gravity Book One

i picked this book up first of all for the cover art which is good, and then read the blurb on the back and the qoute from another auther on the front...

not only was the author's quote from one of my favourite scifi authors (Peter F. Hamilton) the blurb for the boojk itself was amusing and drew me in.

2 days later i finish and fin that i am wanting more. The whole book seems to be written to drag the reader deeper into it and does it wonderfully.

has anyone else read this book or any of her other works nd what do you think?

It is a shameless romp. It is fun from start to finish. If some serious themes have crept into it that was probably accidental and must have happened when I wasn't looking (ahem). There's a girl cyborg secret agent with a troubled past, an elf rock star, some cracks in the fabric of existence that are starting to stretch the wallpaper - and not forgetting necromantic possession, doomed love, hot sex and friends who would sooner eat you than help you if you get them wet...

Sounds very interesting, I'll search for some reviews.

Well got to amazon and stopped there. Check em out 1-2 out of 5 is the norm. Looks like a thumbs down.

I read it last week and found it to be even better than I had imagined. I thought it was going to be an SF novel but it's much more than that - it's SF mixed with the best sort of mythology/fantasy. Just the idea that the borders between dimensions have opened really intrigued me. The characters were superb, especially Lila herself - a wonderful combination of überintelligent battlemachine and all to human woman.The only thing that bothered me at all about this book (and not very much at that) was that there were so much politics going on that I sometimes had to go back in the book to get things straight in my head.
