I recently read Anne of Windy Poplars and really liked it. Now I am currently reading The Blue Island and enjoying that as well. I also loved the 3 PBS movies produced by Kevin Sullivan starring Megan Follows and the late Jonathan Crombie.
 
She was one of my favorite authors as a child, too! I won a spelling bee as a kid and got a gift certificate to a local bookstore. I picked out the first four books in her Anne of Green Gables series. They still hold a magical quality for me. I love her descriptions of nature. Now my seven-year-old is reading her novels to our cat.
