Lee Child

Yes, I am. I love his protagonist.

I'm in the library queue for his latest The Hard Way.

In my opinion, Child is one of the best. If you haven't picked up any of Child's books, do yourself a favor. Killing Floor is the first in the series, and hard to put down. Reacher is an incredible protagonist.

The prequel, The Enemy, is set in 1990 before the events of Killing Floor. You can start the series with The Enemy if you wish also.

Yes. I'm a HUGE Lee Child/Jack Reacher fan. I just recently read the first book in the series 'Killing floor'. I absolutely loved it. The character that Child create is so multi-dimnesional so to speak, that it's like he is more real than just a character in a novel. Kinda like you can really see him in front of you or on a screen, and grow to like him quite easily.
I go but the 2nd novel 'Die trying', very shortly.

I reccomend the Jack Reacher character/series to any reader that enjoys mystery/thrillers
 
How Reacher got his name:

"Is it true that your wife, Jane, came up with the name "Reacher" while she was out shopping?
She was naturally interested in how I was going to replace my monthly paycheck, and I told her I was going to be a novelist. She took it very well, really. Killing Floor, that first book, was a first-person narrative, and as it happened the main character didn't need to be named until somebody interrogated him, about 20 or so pages in. So I had started the book and I hadn't come up with a name I liked. We went out shopping to the supermarket and -- like you probably, Ali, because you're tall, too -- every time I'm in a supermarket, a little old lady comes up to me and says, "You're a nice tall chap, could you reach me that can?" So Jane said, "Hey, if this writing thing doesn't pan out, you could always be a reacher in a supermarket." I thought, Reacher -- good name."
 
Wow, I totally forgot about him...

I was going through the authors forum when I saw your topic on Lee Child, and I remembered the name sounded quite familiar to me. I remember reading a book by him about a year ago and really enjoying it - thanks to your link I found out it was 'Tripwire'. I can't believe I forgot about it like that!

Anyway, as I said: I really liked the book. It's somewhat like Harlan Coben - just better! :p

I'll definitely be reading another one of his books soon....

Our suggestion? Read them in the order they were published. We believe the prequel has more emotional impact after you've gotten to know Reacher a bit better. We numbered them on the BOOKS page for your convenience.
