Rented it since Alan Arkin got bst supporting actor. I really enjoyed it. Anyone else see it?

I saw it when it was at the cinema. Absolutely loved it, particularly the relationship between Olive and the brother (been awhile, what was his name?) I was rolling in the aisles when they
did the dance together at the end!
Great stuff. And it's good to see Steve Carrell doing something different, I thought he was very good.

I loved it. Thoroughly deserved all the oscars they got. I liked that bit too Peronel. Good music lol.

I never actually heard any of the hype..i went into it without a clue what it was about. I only watched it because my sister recommended it.

I don't think there was much hype for it in Scotland, as I didn't hear much about it either. :p

I quite liked it, and loved the ending. :)

What a wonderful film this is. I think Olive is the greatest thing ever. The look on her face as the contest MC sings America right over her head is priceless. I enjoyed all the characters, including the car.

The actress who did play Olive did a wonderful job, no doubt about that. It was the perfect dysfunctional family film if there ever was one. I had a great laugh at the boy refusing to speak, instead, pointing at the wall of Nietzsche. The best scene overall was definitely the contest. In truth, I'm amazed at parents who push their daughters into such things. They accurately depicted the spectable that such things truly are.

You also have to love grandpa's advice to his grandson.:p

I've always been curious as to who the number #1 Proust scholar in the world was.:D

I saw it back in September when it was in theaters and absoutely loved it! I really liked the message it sent in regards to how these girls are presented in things like these and just the pure artificle nature of the pagents for these small girls, who are acting like minature adults.

The contest scene was priceless! From the dance moves to the "Where's your Grandpa now?" moment... it was definitely the best part of the movie. The rest of the film was merely okay, although I did like most of the characters (even Greg Kinnear's character turned out okay). Didn't expect
the grandfather to die so early in the film
.
