So, which do you log in with and why? I'm tempted to use my FB account, but I'm nostalgic.

You can connect your current username with you FB account. In the upper right hand portion of the site, hover over your name, and in the drop down list, click facebook integration. Then click Associate with Facebook, then do all the fun facebook stuff, and boom. Old screen name connected with Facebook. Best of both worlds.

I don't use my real name on FB either, I go by Ronny there too. Everyone but my family calls me Ronny, it's fun to have secrets :p

How sad is it that this is the only site go with the internet...well this and photobucket. I've heard so many bad things about facebook and other sites, like getting hacked and stuff, I'm too chicken to get myself out there. Is facebook as bad as it seems?

Many of my Internet friends enjoy it and use it continually for all sorts of posts, conversation and posting. I'm not afraid of it, but guess I am just not that open a person with strangers.
Lately they seem to be getting more finicky with requiring that there be real people with real ID's behind the names.
I don't know from hacking.

Cool, I think I'll just stick to what I know. Why create for myself another headache. Thanks Peder.

This is the first time since the new format that I've been able to log in and I think that was by accident. Don't want to be on Facebook, tried that and didn't care for it - some of the language and posts were crude. So I hope I can remember how to get back in here.

Just me again, still baffled by this whole business and went back to see if I could log in again - seems terribly complicated, what is all this trophy business? If anyone knows what it's all about can you please let me know? Is there still a PM function?

Yes, there is PM - only it's called "Start a Conversation" and you can find under any members avatar picture. You can ask all other questions in "Welcome to the NEW Book and Reader, go to Forums, then Book and Reader, and then Site News and Updates. If you click on "what's new?" it will show you all the recent threads, if you click "watch thread" you will receive alerts when someone posts. It's pretty cool. Any other questions just "Start a Conversation".;)

how integrated is the site with FB? like do posts appear here and there as well? because I have HUGE FB issues.

I don't think posts appear in both places. It just associates your username here with your Facebook ID so it's "easier" for you to login.

It is especially because of such integration that I wish even more that viewing the Writers Room here was limited only to BAR membership, as it used to be under the old forum. My intention in posting original work is not to post it to the whole wide world, as I have remarked before to no avail.

While I would second the added privacy given by making some areas visible to members only I would be remiss if I didn't point out that anything you put on the web is available to any and everyone for ever. Rule of thumb for happy internet usage is to never put any writing, information, photos etc on the net you dont mind the entire world knowing.

Believe me! I am under no illusions in that respect. That is part of the calculation in deciding to post at all.
